Jhaelith
Elderboy & Head House wizard of House Millithor
Demeanor and Appearance
An arrogant but wise old mage, he dresses more conservatively than most young Drow and is stiff in manner and posture. He speaks deliberately, with a quiet raspy voice and is always accompanied by his dire bat familiar, Brizeyl.
History
Born over four hundred years ago, he is the oldest of Matron Millithor’s surviving offspring. He is an accomplished wizard who emerged from Sorcere with some honours and whose zealotry earned him allies at the Academy. He plans to emerge from under the shadow of the previous House Wizard, Quertus, after his predecessor’s unfortunate death.
Ambitions
To see House Millithor elevated, to become a Master of Sorcere and to further work to advance his house when there.
Activities
As the house wizard he spends a lot of his time on spell research and item creation. He is an avid follower of Drow theatre, despite his normal dour demeanour. He is also known as an epicurean; with several favourite restaurants in the city, especially The Cathlyre, and a regular patron of Shimmerdark's Decanter.
Allies, enemies and others
(A) Hatch'net - the master of Lore at Melee Magathere – we bonded over our hatred of the other races and he has become something of a friend. They meet regularly and debate while playing Shelza-Ir.
(A) Ilmryn - "The Historian of Menzoberranzan" – one of the oldest males in the city, I have courted his favour to secure his encyclopaedic knowledge of past events, in exchange for updating the wily old Drow on current affairs.
(E) Alton’nar Baenre - one of the many Baenre sons at the Academy and my mentor at Sorcere, we quickly established a relationship of mutual total hatred. We have not remained in contact.
(O) Uhlsrysn Xorlarrin – a Master of Sorcere who gave me advance warning about an assassination attempt at the school which allowed me to turn the tables on my attacker. The wounds I suffered remain to this day a reminder of my hubris and force me to dress more moderately than most Drow to hide the disfigurement. He has never mentioned this favour or approached me, yet.
(O) [Insert name here] - He has a secret which he has told no one; 50 years ago he had a love affair with a female wizard of another noble house whom he met at a party. They met for several years before she broke off contact, he was hurt but retains some feelings for her.
Relationships with the members of House Millithor
Ki’willis – she is wise, strong and has led the house well. She has always put her faith in me, I will not fail her and I will give my life for her.
Narcelia – I respect her thoughtful approach, she reminds me of her mother when she was younger, she will make a good Matron Mother in time.
Carcelen – I am worried by her risk taking but hopeful she will mature over the next 200-years.
Amersril - she must work harder for the Goddess’s favour in order to be granted female offspring; she should focus more on the interest of the house and less on her own.
Liredaer - I am scornful of her wanton brutality, yet I see the zealotry in her heart as a reflection of mine, her lack of interest in the house weakens us.
Drakarth - a talented and skillful warrior, beneath the brutish façade and wanton pursuit of his lusts he could be a great Weaponmaster, possibly.
Quev-Raeton –a steady figure and his well placed words could be used for more than the humble business of trade. I must watch him carefully as his power grows.
Mordac - skilled with a blade but not much else, I will not scorn the disfigured but question both his decision to mutilate himself and to flaunt it publicly.
Matron Alamandra - a strong Matron Mother who leads a weak house, our fortunes are linked and they should be protected better, especially when their Matron Mother travels so frequently out of Ched Nasad.
Mayna - my first child, an exemplar of our race, beautiful, ambitious and powerful; she will be a great mage and an asset to our house if she can control her anger and impatience at being ranked below the Priestesses.
Val-raen - my second child, an unworthy son, he is only a fair wizard and yet was favoured by Lloth since birth; he must do more than rely on that continuing if he wishes to reach his potential.
Dariel Kront'tane - a trusted craftsman, with total loyalty to the house. His artistic skill and professional diligence is a thing to be respected and admired.
Ryldemin - he will be disposed of in time, till then he must be tolerated.
